Cinema Kabuki returns to Toronto with two Canadian premieres of Kabuki theatre and dance for the silver screen November 11 – 15, following its successful spring debut.
Using multiple HD cameras and six-channel sound, Cinema Kabuki premieres the dance spectacle Triple Lion Dance and the theatrical ghost story The Peony Lantern Sat. Nov. 14. The special one-time-only screenings feature Japan’s most renowned Kabuki dancers and actors. Repeat performances of three presentations which premiered last March round out the six-performance programme at Scotiabank Theatre Toronto. All films are subtitled in English.
