Selected by Festival audiences as one of their Top Ten favourites of Hot Docs 2009, Anders Høgsbro Østergaard’s BURMA VJ opens in Toronto on Friday, August 7th at the Royal Cinema.

Kyaw Zaw Wai, spokesperson for the Burmese Temple, will be in attendance for a post-screening Q & A. On Saturday evening, several monks and members of the Burmese community will peacefully march down College Street towards the Royal Cinema, marking the anniversary of the uprising.

The film also opens in Vancouver on August 7 and screens at the Mayfair in Ottawa from August 7 – 11.
